Founded: November 7, 1988. The Indy GTO Association is a chapter, in good standing, of the GTO Association of America (www.gtoaa.org) First Club Meeting: November 7, 1988 at Steak-n-Shake on west 16th St. Speedway Indiana. Club noted for: "All Pontiac Day at the Track" car show held every year or so (not in 2007) at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Largest gathering of Pontiac GTO’s on the planet, summer of 1993, while hosting the GTO Association of America National Convention at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Well over 500 Pontiac GTO’s in attendance. Charity Support: The Indy GTO Association supports the Elysian Foundation. The Elysian’s provide financial support to many patients at Normal Life in Sheridan, Indiana. Normal Life is home for patients with permanent brain injuries. The Indy GTO Association has, through procceds of our car shows, been able to donate over $10,000 to the Elysian Foundation since 2000. Membership: Currently the Indy GTO Association has 95 member families. Most members are located in central and southern Indiana. Activities: The IGTOA is a very active group. Activities include cruises, traveling to car shows, places to eat and places of interest all over the Midwest (and beyond sometimes). The IGTOA has traveled as far away as Denver (to the GTOAA Nationals) and Greenville, SC (to the Pontiac Oakland Club Nationals). The Indy GTO Association is an active member of the Auto Clubs Council of Indiana and our President, Bill Sanders currently serves as Vice-Chairman of the ACCI for 2007. Current Contacts: |
