IDEM - Air Pollution Control Board public hearing
The Air Pollution Control Board held a public hearing July 1, 2009 at the Indiana Government Center in Indianapolis concerning the motor vehicle inspection and maintenance program in Lake and Porter counties (definition of antique vehicle). The hearing was held to allow public comment prior to the preliminary adoption of the amendments to define “antique vehicle” for the purpose of exemption from the Lake and Porter county vehicle inspection and maintenance program.
Gary Loveless, President of ACCI made some opening remarks to the Air Pollution Control Board. Abe Barnett, Indiana Representative for Hagerty Insurance read a statement from Rory Carroll, Legislative Director of Hagerty Plus. Bill Sanders, ACCI Chairman and President of Indy GTO Association read a statement from Steve McDonald, SEMA VP of Governmental Affairs.
Gary made some closing remarks to the board and requested that they extend any action on the ruling and allow, ACCI, Hagerty and SEMA to each appoint a representative to work with IDEM staff to compose a more equitable and reasonable rule that can meet all parties goals similar to the Arizona rules.
